TDU2 Hints & Tips Empty TDU2 Hints & Tips

Post by NitrousX Sun Feb 13, 2011 8:30 pm

Hi guys I've created a
thread for those who are starting out in TDU2. Here are a few tips from my own
experience that I have used to get faster lap times and making more money. If
you would like to add more tips I'll add it and credit who ever submits thanks.
Hope this comes in handy guys.

Driving & cruising:
Are you constantly crashing into objects or traffic in races or time trails.
Well I have some great tips for you:
*Use Bumper or Hood cam
it will improve your drive-ability in races, time trail and licenses increasing
faster lap times and beating AI/players

*Losing Time trail events? Keep to the shorter lanes of the Apex bends and when
you reach a tight hairpin try using the handbrake cuts lap times by an average
of 2 mins+. Other tips when approaching a hill, tap your brakes or take your
foot off the gas. You'll never know what maybe on the other side of the road.

*Keep being hit by traffic? There are a lot of signs to be aware of when
dealing with traffic. Look out for traffic indicating ahead most indicate 300
yards before a junction, brake when you see this as this is an indicator for
when the traffic will turn. Ever seen on an occasion the car/traffic brake on a
straight road ahead? In my experience they often brake when oncoming traffic is
coming, or a steep hill is coming up ahead or a tight hairpin. They will tend
to brake within 300-500 yards mostly this will defiantly help when competing in
the Long time trail events for Ibiza and Hawaii

*Can't find upgrades to beat opponents in single/multiplayer races? Try
discovering wrecks displayed by the jigsaw icon or taking shoots of the island
by completing photo shoot missions, areas around Ibiza or Hawaii

*While driving in cars with less grip and more torque always try to keep
the gears above 2, as the tires will slip and will over steer into a
doe-nut especially in wet conditions its even more severe

*Are you often finding yourself driving in the rain? Pause the game and
wait a couple of minutes as the weather changes every 2hrs 30mins,
within those times the rain may stop. While waiting way not go outside
and socialize for a bit before you become a zombie ^^.

Control Settings:

Lately I have been
tweaking the control settings in TDU2, I decided to tweak it to see weather I
could easily control any cars like the A1 Cars like Bugatti’s the way they
slide very erratically when ever you brake at a bend or sharp corner. This tweak is suited for those using
Sport/Full assist if you want the full list of tweaks http://forums.testdriveunlimited2.com/showthread.php?t=40572&highlight=control+settings.
For hardcore hit users http://forums.testdriveunlimited2.com/showthread.php?t=32922&highlight=control+settings

Below is a print screen for
those using Pads for 360/PS3:

For Steering Wheel Users I would highly
suggest going to the original thread way I found the tweak from. After you
change the settings you will find that there’s better traction and grip. And on
several occasions if you tweak the steering dampering it will affect the launch
control from a stop.

Money:
Low on cash or want to splash a bit of Wonga on a new crib or car?
*Try completing a few instant challenges which are displayed under single
player tab on the map, the amount of cash you receive for each challenge vary
from 2k, 3k, 5k or even up to 30k+.

*Feeling up to challenging users in instant races depending on your stake,
default amount is 1k under Game settings in options menu. The larger the amount
your stake is you put down as a bet, the riskier the race will be. But if you
have a fast mid/maxed out car you may just win

*Try gambling in the Casino DLC by playing the slot machines which is the far
most easiest way of getting thousands of $ a hour. Many users report playing
slots for 2-4 hrs get around 30k+. Also the more you play the more likely you
may receive the Audi R8 Spyder convertible

*Strapped for cash or want to get out of the dingy Caravan? Ever tried using
the exchange tool, it’s an option used in Real life to swap any property for
another house. Whatever the amount you want to swap your house, say the value
is 250k and another house for sale you want is 300k. Obviously means that you
would swap and pay the remainder of 50k of course, if you have enough money to
exchange. Doing this in the beginning will save hundreds or even thousands of
cash allowing you to buy extra cars or upgrades.

*Another option of receiving cash is to create challenges for the wider
community on the network. To create one hit Start>challenge editor here you
can create Speed trap, races and time trail events. Once saved and test drived
you can then transfer to the Community Challenge Centre or (CCC). Once uploaded
users can compete and can pay a fee and if they win/lose you will receive a
percentage of the winnings earned 10% when users lose. 5% when users win

Discovery items:
Are you finding it hard to find wrecks or photos around the island?
*Try roaming around the roads of the islands which you have not discovered as
yet, on most occasions you will find wrecks and photo shoots to collect. Note
for every 20 photo's found on each island you will receive 50k not much but
will help you towards buying that dream car purchase.

*Or if you’re finding it hard to discover shops, upgrades and wrecks try using
this Map for Ibiza, credit goes to Enduro86EjS

Nice tips Nitrous and also don't get the golf GTI for the A7 racing it sucks in time trials and seems I'm not the only one having a hard time controlling th e POS car. I don't understand this car should handle better its a nice handling car in real life and with a tune should be better but maybe if they had tire tune it would have better grip.

Ok yesterday I got with a couple of peeps and we did a cruise and met up at a peeps house. I was invited and got in friends house no prob, but the 3rd guy could not get in. I left house to see if other guy could get in and no. I tried again and couldn't get in so we had to back out to dashboard, get back in game and we were able to meet up in house 4 of us and able to cruise. I hope the patch will fix this so things will be smoother when we all get together. So if you are having trouble just go to dashboard and log back in game and should work.

Bit of an easy way to earn easy money at early levels is to go to the Driving School area near the Airport on Ibiza. There you have a really large open oval type track you can practice drifting on.

Turn your settings to Hardcore mode with manual transmission and jump in a 4WD car like the Subaru Impreza WRX STI or something. Take off and just turn your wheel/keys/controller left to right and you'll start drifting in a fishtail-like fashion. You'll start to rack up the points using that free-roam money thing. I usually stay in 3rd gear to keep the speed up.

Try not to hit anything and you can combo together about $10,000 in 1min if your good enough. The multiplier keeps going up and up but caps out at around there. Very Happy

You can even just sit there and do donuts and it'll rack up the money too but I prefer to practice drifting just in case we ever make competitions for it.

Another hint is if you completed the Ibiza Cup Area 2, you can play all their races again and earn an easy 15k...done that for around 10 minutes and won around 250k...and I'm nearing the 10 million mark since I donated 500k to the computer team.

Has anyone tried the sticker shop and if so post up your picks of artwork. I tried to do a ignition decal and will post up a pick when I get home. I can say this decal system sucks and wish it was more like Forza's, once you mess up you have to erase everything and start over.
